Coles Bay - Freycinet Peninsula

Great national park campsite right on the beach. Walked up to Wineglass Bay lookout. Great views but lots of steps. My legs have only just recovered from the Cape Hauy 4500 steps. You have to hike up through these rocky mountains called ‘The Hazards’ which are spectacular. There are then 1000 steps down to Wineglass Bay beach. Really beautiful walk back along Hazard Beach. I think it’s the orange lichen on the rocks that makes the bays look amazing and the sea is such a lovely aqua colour.

More spectacular views from Cape Tourville lighthouse.

We had a few very cold days here. One of the boats in the bay got blown straight onto the beach missing the rocks by a few metres, very lucky.

Great game of golf at Frecinet Golf Club with Mike and Deb. Met some great people, we try and socialise in the evening but it’s so cold we are back in our caravans by 7pm. The temperature drops dramatically at night and the wind is bitter.
