Maria Island

This was on my bucket list. I love wombats and have always wanted to see them in the wild. Maria Island has no predators for wombats so they just roam about eating grass. We saw over 50 they were everywhere and so cute. Discovered that their cube shaped poo is cube shaped for a reason. Apparently they mark their territory with it and poo on rocks, on top of logs on hills and the cube shape is to prevent it rolling off. Weird!

There were these very big grey geese there called Cape Barren Geese with pink legs, black feet and a bright greenish yellow cere on its short black bill. They are one of the rarest world geese.
